IsoHorns Wi-Fi diplexers improve WISP operational efficiency and generate cost savings

Our diplexers give WISPs the advantage of using both 5 and 6 GHz radios on a single wideband antenna. Works for:

Point to multipoint (PTMP) sector antennas

Point-to-point (PTP) backhaul antennas

This approach not only results in cost savings for antennas, but also reduces expenses by occupying less tower space and potentially lowering rent, and reduces wind load on the tower.

Diplexers for PTP backhaul

Diplexers increase the capacity of backhaul antennas by enabling 5 GHz and 6 GHz PTP links on the same large high-gain antennas, which means faster backhaul connections without needing extra backhaul antennas.

The upgrade process is also more flexible for installers, who can schedule visits to gradually swap out the CPE for customers. Plus, WISPs have the option to upgrade customers as they agree to pay for these improvements, allowing for a cost-effective and customer-centric upgrade path.

Optimal RF Performance

Our diplexers are engineered to maximize RF performance with an ultra-low insertion loss of less than 1 dB, ensuring minimal signal attenuation. Additionally, they provide superior port isolation exceeding 30 dB, effectively preventing signal interference and maintaining signal integrity.

Add 6 GHz

WISPs can upgrade their existing wideband antennas by adding a diplexer and a 6 GHz radio like the Cambium Networks ePMP 4600L. This lets them switch customers over to 6 GHz one by one. Every time a customer moves to 6 GHz, they get better service, and it also makes more room on the 5 GHz side. This also helps the remaining 5 GHz customers receive stronger and more reliable connections by alleviating the load on the 5 GHz access points.

Cost savings on antennas

Traditionally, operating across different frequency bands required multiple antennas. With diplexers, WISPs can consolidate their hardware, leading to substantial savings in antenna costs. This reduction in hardware not only lowers initial investment but also minimizes ongoing maintenance expenses.

Reduced tower space, wind load, and rent

The compact setup afforded by diplexers reduces the physical space needed on towers. This is particularly beneficial as tower space is often limited and can be expensive. By occupying less space, WISPs can either reduce their rent or make room for additional equipment, if necessary.

More backhaul capacity

Utilizing diplexers increases the capacity of backhaul connections. This improvement is crucial for the backbone of any wireless network, as it directly influences the overall quality and speed of the internet service provided. A stronger backhaul translates into better service for end-users without the need for additional, costly infrastructure enhancements.

6 GHz upgrades at your convenience

The upgrade process becomes more manageable and less disruptive for both WISPs and their customers. Installers can schedule visits to replace customer premises equipment (CPE) gradually, minimizing service interruptions. This phased approach is less resource-intensive and allows for better planning and execution.

Upgrade customers to 6 GHz as they pay

WISPs can offer upgrades to customers on an individual basis, allowing those who are willing to pay for improved services to do so. This approach is customer-centric and ensures that upgrades are cost-effective, aligning with both the provider's and the customer's interests.

Everyone wins

As customers upgrade to the 6 GHz band, the congestion on the 5 GHz band is reduced. This shift can lead to improved service quality for remaining 5 GHz users, as there is more bandwidth available per user. This aspect is particularly beneficial in higher density areas where network congestion is a common problem.
